Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Kumamoto V. and 5th ranked Yamagata had identical 13-11 record. This time Kumamoto V. used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Yamagata 90-61 on Sunday night. Kumamoto V. had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. (14-11) moved-up to second place, which they share with Nishinomiya S. Loser Yamagata dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Saga B.. Kumamoto V. will meet Fukuoka R. (#5) on the road in the next round. Yamagata will play against Aomori W. and hope to secure a win.
