Regular Season Round 23: Shinshu BW - Ibaraki R. 77-84

There was a small surprise in Nagano where tenth ranked Ibaraki R. (5-18) won against 7th ranked Shinshu BW (9-14) 84-77 on Sunday. They outrebounded Shinshu BW 45-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for point guard Kohei Fukuzawa (177-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. Four Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. International guard Yuta Okada (189-98) responded with 27 points and American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU) scored 22 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Ibaraki R. maintains tenth place with 5-18 record. Shinshu BW lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Shiga L-Stars. Ibaraki R. will meet at home league's second-placed Kawasaki BT in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shinshu BW will play against Kyoto H. (#11) and hope to secure a win.
