Regular Season Round 22: Hitachi SRT - Chiba Jets 50-86

No shocking result in a game in Tokyo where second ranked Chiba Jets (17-5) smashed 5th ranked Hitachi SRT (14-8) 86-50 on Saturday. They outrebounded Hitachi SRT 48-29 including 18 on the offensive glass. Chiba Jets shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Hitachi SRT's players. The game was dominated by American players. Forward John Mooney (206-98, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Christopher Smith (193-94, college: Utah St.) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward James McAdoo (206-93, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) scored 6 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Hitachi SRT lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Akita NH. Chiba Jets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hitachi SRT will play again against the league's leader Chiba Jets (#1) and hope to secure a win.
