Regular Season Round 22: Yokohama BC - Ryukyu GK 79-81

Ninth-ranked Yokohama BC (7-15) made lots of trouble for first ranked Ryukyu GK (19-3) on Saturday. The visitors from Okinawa managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Yokohama BC 48-34 including 19 on the offensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Yokohama BC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The other American import power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Christian) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Czech Patrik Auda (204-89, college: Seton Hall, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Leyton Hammonds (203-94, college: OK State, agency: BeoBasket) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ryukyu GK have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-3 record. Yokohama BC at the other side keeps the ninth place with 15 games lost. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yokohama BC will play again at home against the league's leader Ryukyu GK (#1) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
