Very predictable result when second ranked Chiba (18-2) defeated at home 12th ranked Yokohama EX (5-15) 90-81. Chiba made 25-of-29 charity shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Chiba outrebounded Yokohama EX 43-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Yokohama EX was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Chiba players scored in double figures. Canadian forward Mamadou Gueye (201-93, college: Alberta) came up with 26 points and American Isaac Copeland (206-95, college: Nebraska) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Yokohama EX in the defeat. Yokohama EX's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Chiba. Newly promoted Chiba maintains second place with 18-2 record behind leader Nagasaki. Yokohama EX at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Chiba will play against league's leader Nagasaki on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
