Regular Season Round 23: Kumamoto V. - Fukushima 87-86

The most exciting game of round 23 in the B2 League took place in Kumamoto. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Fukushima (15-8) to third ranked Kumamoto V. (13-10) 87-86 in the game for the second place. Kumamoto V. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import swingman LJ Peak (196-96, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 20 points. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Fukushima's coach Tomohiro Moriyama tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Kumamoto V. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Nishinomiya S. Fukushima at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. They share it with Koshigaya A. and Sendai 89ers. Kumamoto V. is looking forward to face Yamagata (#5) at home in the next round. Fukushima will play against the league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
