Regular Season Round 20: Nagoya DD - Toyama G. 90-85

Very expected game when 8th ranked Toyama G. (7-13) lost on the road to third ranked Nagoya DD (13-7) 90-85 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The winners were led by American power forward Scott Eatherton (206-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Coty Clarke (201-92, college: Arkansas) supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) by American forward Brice Johnson (206-94, college: UNC) did not help to save the game for Toyama G.. Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) added 9 points and 8 assists for the guests. Toyama G.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Nagoya DD have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-7 record having just three points less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with Alvark Tokyo and Tochigi Brex. Toyama G. at the other side keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Shiga L-Stars. Nagoya DD will again meet at home Toyama G. (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Toyama G. will have a break next round.
