Regular Season Round 4: TNT Tropang - Alaska Aces 81-77

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Alaska Aces (2-2) against tenth ranked TNT Ka Tropa (1-1) on Friday night. Visiting Alaska Aces were defeated by TNT Ka Tropa in a tough game in Makati 77-81. TNT Ka Tropa made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Alaska Aces turnovers. Strangely Alaska Aces outrebounded TNT Ka Tropa 53-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Alaska Aces were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Jayson Castro William (180-86) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard McKenzie Moore (198-92, college: UTEP, agency: Slash Sports) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four TNT Ka Tropa players scored in double figures. Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 18 rebounds and guard Jeron Alvin Teng (190-94) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Alaska Aces. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion left bottom position moving up to eighth place. Alaska Aces at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with SM Beermen and Rain or Shine. TNT Ka Tropa will play against Meralco Bolts (#10) in Manila in the next round. Alaska Aces will play on the road against Blackwater Elite (#11) in Caloocan City and hope to get back on the winning track.
