Rather expected game in Mito where 10th ranked Ibaraki R. (3-16) was defeated by eighth ranked Hokkaido L. (9-10) 103-92 on Wednesday. Hokkaido L. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Ibaraki R.'s 36. It was a great evening for American DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 19 points. At the losing side point guard Kohei Fukuzawa (177-93) responded with 30 points and 4 assists and Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hokkaido L. moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Osaka E. and Shinshu BW. Newly promoted Ibaraki R. keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with San-en NP. Hokkaido L. will meet Kyoto H. (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ibaraki R. will play against Alvark Tokyo and hope to secure a win.
