Not a big story in a game in Okinawa where 11th ranked Kyoto H. (2-17) was defeated by first ranked Ryukyu GK (16-3) 80-67 on Wednesday. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Kyoto H. 45-25 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Christian) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach Dai Oketani used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Justin Harper (208-89, college: Richmond) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Kazuki Hosokawa (187-97) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Ryukyu GK. They maintain first place with 16-3 record. Kyoto H. lost their sixteenth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost.
