Regular Season Round 2: Steelers - Lioneers 95-105

Another exciting game was played in Kaohsiung between Lioneers and Steelers where Lioneers beat Steelers on the road 105-95. They outrebounded Steelers 53-39 including a 41-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lioneers brought some defensive toughness making 12 blocks. Steelers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-92, college: NM State) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 26 rebounds and 9 blocks. Guard Li-Jen Lin (183-90) contributed with 29 points for the winners. American guard Anthony Tucker (193-89, college: MSUM) replied with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import center Keith Benson (211-88, college: Oakland) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Steelers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lioneers will play against Pilots in Taoyuan in the next round. Steelers will play at home against Pilots and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
