Very expected game when 7th ranked Aomori W. (2-19) was defeated on the road by second ranked Fukushima (15-6) 84-69. Fukushima dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Aomori W.'s 30. They outrebounded Aomori W. 38-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. Fukushima players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Fukushima players scored in double figures. Canadian center Renaldo Dixon (206-90, college: NM State) answered with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Hayate Komasawa (188-98) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Aomori W.Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Fukushima. They maintain second place with 15-6 record having just three points less than leader Kagawa FA, which they share with Koshigaya A. Aomori W. lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 19 games lost. Fukushima will play against Kumamoto V. (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aomori W. will play against the league's leader FE Nagoya (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
