Regular Season Round 3: Alaska Aces - Ginebra Kings 77-80

There was a surprise result when Ginebra Kings edged Alaska Aces in Makati 80-77 on Sunday. American forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) notched a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard Scottie Thompson (188-93) supported him with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Even a double-double of 19 points and 18 rebounds by Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) did not help to save the game for Alaska Aces. American guard Robbie Herndon (191-93, college: SF State) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Four Alaska Aces players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game.
