Regular Season Round 18: Gunma CT - Shinshu BW 66-65

A very close game took place in Gunma between Gunma CT and Shinshu BW. Seventh ranked Gunma CT (10-8) got a very close home victory over 6th ranked Shinshu BW (9-9). Gunma CT managed to escape with a 1-point win 66-65 in the game for the fifth place. The best player for the winners was naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: UC Merced) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Gunma CT players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Reo Maeda (191-97) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gunma CT have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hiroshima D. Shinshu BW lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Gunma CT will meet higher ranked Kawasaki BT (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shinshu BW will play against Toyama G. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
