Regular Season Round 17: San-en NP - Chiba Jets 89-101

B1 League top team - Chiba Jets (13-4) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat tenth ranked San-en NP (3-14) in Hamamatsu 101-89. Chiba Jets made 21-of-22 free shots (95.5 percent) during the game. Chiba Jets outrebounded San-en NP 43-24 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) nailed a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winning side and his fellow American import forward John Mooney (206-98, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 28 points and 19 rebounds. Chiba Jets' coach Atsushi Ono used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) came up with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Filipino guard Ferdinand Ravena (189-96) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for San-en NP in the defeat. Four San-en NP players scored in double figures. Chiba Jets have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-4 record, which they share with Kawasaki BT and Hitachi SRT. San-en NP lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Chiba Jets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San-en NP will play again against the league's leader Chiba Jets (#1) and hope to secure a win.
