Regular Season Round 17: Gunma CT - Shinshu BW 90-87

Important game to mention about took place in Gunma. Seventh ranked Gunma CT (9-8) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Shinshu BW (9-8) 90-87 in the game for the fifth place. Gunma CT made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Shinshu BW turnovers. Shinshu BW was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and American power forward Justin Keenan (202-89, college: Ferris St.) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU) responded with 19 points and international guard Yuta Okada (189-98) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gunma CT have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hiroshima D. and Shinshu BW. Shinshu BW lost third consecutive game. Gunma CT will again play against Shinshu BW (#6) in Nagano in the next round. Shinshu BW will have a break next round.
