We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Shiga L-Stars (6-11) lost at home to ninth ranked Toyama G. (5-12) 107-102 on Saturday. Toyama G. shot 61.4 percent from the field and made 29-of-35 free shots (82.9 percent) during the game, while Shiga L-Stars only scored ten points from the stripe. Toyama G. looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed 37 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and American forward Brice Johnson (206-94, college: UNC) accounted for 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Toyama G. maintains ninth place with 5-12 record. Shiga L-Stars lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Yokohama BC. Toyama G. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shiga L-Stars will play again against Toyama G. (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
