Regular Season Round 6: Homentmen - Al Riyadi 63-93

Bottom-ranked Homentmen (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 93-63 loss to fourth ranked Al Riyadi (4-1) in Beirut on Tuesday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. International guard Ali Mansour (185-98) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Jean Abdel Nour (198-83) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Elios Saad (202-1) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Nader Dhainy scored 7 points and 6 assists. Homentmen's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Al Riyadi have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Beirut Club and Sagesse. Loser Homentmen still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Anibal.
