Regular Season Round 16: Hitachi SRT - Shiga L-Stars 95-82

Very expected game in Tokyo where 8th ranked Shiga L-Stars (6-10) were defeated by third ranked Hitachi SRT (12-4) 95-82 on Monday. Hitachi SRT outrebounded Shiga L-Stars 31-18 including 20 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Hitachi SRT looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and international point guard Leo Vendrame (183-93) who added 18 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Sean OMara (208-95, college: Xavier, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Tomomasa Ozawa (187-94) scored 22 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitachi SRT keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kawasaki BT and Chiba Jets. Shiga L-Stars lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Yokohama BC. Hitachi SRT will meet at home Niigata A. (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shiga L-Stars will play against Toyama G. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
