The biggest surprise took place in Tokyo where host Alvark Tokyo (11-5) beat league's leader Kawasaki BT (12-4) 96-90 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Kawasaki BT. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Alvark Tokyo made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds and American-Georgian Matt Janning (195-88, college: Northeastern) added 18 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Alvark Tokyo moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Kawasaki BT at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Ryukyu GK who have the same record. Kawasaki BT will play next round against Yokohama BC trying to make it back to the top of the standings.
