No shocking result in a game in Okinawa where first ranked Ryukyu GK (13-3) outleveled 9th ranked Toyama G. (4-12) 91-66 on Saturday. They outrebounded Toyama G. 41-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Christian) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Brice Johnson (206-94, college: UNC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ryukyu GK. They maintain first place with 13-3 record. Loser Toyama G. keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Ryukyu GK will again meet at home Toyama G. (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Toyama G. will have a break next round.
