Regular Season Round 14: Fukushima - Kumamoto V. 86-82

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kumamoto V. (7-7) against fifth ranked Fukushima (9-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Kumamoto V. was defeated by Fukushima in a tough game in Fukushima 82-86. They made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Fukushima players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Tomonobu Hasegawa (184-90) supported him with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists by American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) did not help to save the game for Kumamoto V.. His fellow American import swingman LJ Peak (196-96, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) added 18 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fukushima moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sendai 89ers. Kumamoto V. at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. Fukushima will again play against higher ranked Kumamoto V. (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kumamoto V. will have a break next round.
