Regular Season Round 13: Kagawa FA - Fukuoka R. 92-90

Fourth-ranked Fukuoka R. (5-8) was very close to win a game against first ranked Kagawa FA (11-2) in Takamatsu. Kagawa FA managed to secure only two-point victory 92-90. However their fans expected easier game. Kagawa FA made 24-of-26 charity shots (92.3 percent) during the game, while Fukuoka R. only scored eight points from the stripe. Kagawa FA players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard Stedmon Lemon (198-92, college: JCSU) responded with 34 points (!!!) and Jamaican center Jerome Jordan (215-86, college: Tulsa) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Fukuoka R.'s coach Eiki Umezaki rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kagawa FA have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-2 record, which they share with FE Nagoya. Fukuoka R. lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Saga B.. Kagawa FA will play against Saga B. (#5) on the road in the next round. Fukuoka R. will have a break next round.
