Regular Season Round 11: Tokyo HT - Chiba 72-90

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Tokyo HT (6-6) was defeated at home by third ranked Chiba (9-1) 90-72 on Saturday. Chiba made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Tokyo HT's players. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a great evening for power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) helped adding 9 points and 13 rebounds. Four Chiba players scored in double figures. Power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Chiba maintains third place with 9-1 record having five points less than leader Nagasaki. Loser Tokyo HT dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
