Regular Season Round 11: Kagoshima - Kanazawa 96-69

Bottom-ranked Kanazawa (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 96-69 loss to eighth ranked Kagoshima (6-4) in Renova on Saturday evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Kagoshima forced 25 Kanazawa turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-93, college: Louisiana Coll.) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points. His fellow American import forward Christian Cunningham (201-97, college: JSU) helped adding 10 points and 7 rebounds. Five Kagoshima players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Dusan Vicentic (204-97, college: WVWC) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagoshima moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Okayama. Kanazawa lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost. Kagoshima will again meet at home bottom-ranked Kanazawa (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kanazawa will have a break next round.
