Regular Season Round 11: Aisin AW - Yamaguchi 78-82

Rather expected game in Aichi where 11th ranked Aisin AW (4-6) was defeated by ninth ranked Yamaguchi (4-6) 82-78 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American forward Robert Sampson (203-92, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Rikiya Yamaguchi (180-96) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. Sampson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) responded with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) scored 9 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Yamaguchi. Newly promoted Yamaguchi maintains ninth place with 4-6 record, which they share with defeated Aisin AW. Yamaguchi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aisin AW will play again against Yamaguchi (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
