The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Barsy Atyrau as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Barsy Atyrau defeated 3rd ranked Tobol at home 94-79. Barsy Atyrau forced 22 Tobol turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jordan Watson (188-95, college: West Liberty, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Belarusian point guard Andrey Rogozenko (183-97) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Watson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Barsy Atyrau players scored in double figures. International point guard Shaim Kuanov (181-91) replied with 25 points and 4 assists and international forward Anton Bykov (200-89) added 20 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Tobol. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Barsy Atyrau (7-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Tobol lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Aktobe. Tobol will play next round against strong Astana trying to get back on the winning streak. Barsy Atyrau will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
