Rather expected game when 6th ranked Khouzestan (2-2) was smashed by fourth ranked Zob Ahan (5-3) in Ahvaz 80-58 on Thursday. Zob Ahan forced 26 Khouzestan turnovers. The winners were led by the former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon, agency: BIG) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and forward Alireza Mortazavi (194-95) supported him with 15 points and 4 assists. Four Zob Ahan players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 4 assists by Arash Sabeti did not help to save the game for Khouzestan. Mostafa Abdolvand added 11 points and 8 rebounds. Zob Ahan moved-up to second place. Loser Khouzestan keeps the sixth position with two games lost. Zob Ahan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Khouzestan will play against Sirjan (#3) and hope to secure a win.
