Regular Season Round 14: Shanghai S. - Zhejiang GB. 112-103

The most important game in the last round took place in Shanghai between third ranked Golden Bulls (9-3) and fifth ranked Sharks (10-2) on Thursday night. Golden Bulls were defeated by Sharks in a tough game on the road 103-112. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Sharks made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Sharks outrebounded Golden Bulls 41-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists. 32 personal fouls committed by Golden Bulls helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 14 assists. The former international center Zhelin Wang (213-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American center Harold Yu (221) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Qian Wu (188-94) added 22 points and 8 assists in the effort for Golden Bulls. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sharks have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Golden Bulls at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Guangzhou LL. Sharks is looking forward to face Aviators (#5) in Shenzhen in the next round. Golden Bulls will play at home against Blue Whales and are hoping to win this game.
