Regular Season Round 12: Gunma CT - Yokohama BC 84-75

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Gunma CT (5-7) beat at home 6th ranked Yokohama BC (6-6) 84-75 on Wednesday. Gunma CT made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Czech center Ondrej Balvin (217-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: UC Merced) chipped in 21 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Reginald Buckner (206-91, college: Ole Miss) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Leyton Hammonds (203-94, college: OK State, agency: BeoBasket) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gunma CT moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hokkaido L. and Akita NH. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Shiga L-Stars. Gunma CT will meet league's leader Ryukyu GK in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Yokohama BC will play against Tochigi Brex (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
