Regular Season Round 11: FE Nagoya - Fukushima 78-89

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked FE Nagoya (9-2) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Fukushima (7-4) 89-78. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of FE Nagoya. Fukushima had a 36-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds. Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) helped adding 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Fukushima's coach Tomohiro Moriyama used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Takaya Sasayama (178-93) scored 19 points and 5 assists. Fukushima have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sendai 89ers. FE Nagoya at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Kagawa FA. Fukushima is looking forward to face league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. FE Nagoya will play on the road against Aomori W. and is hoping to win this game.
