Regular Season Round 12: Shiga L-Stars - Shimane SM 94-102

Very expected game when 7th ranked Shiga L-Stars (6-6) were defeated at home by third ranked Shimane SM (9-3) 102-94 on Wednesday. Shimane SM had a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Reid Travis (203-95, college: Kentucky, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds. Australian Nick Kay (206-92, college: MSU Denver) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was British Ovie Soko (201-91, college: Duquesne) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Novar Gadson (201-89, college: Rider) added 16 points respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars' coach Luis Guil rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shimane SM have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Shiga L-Stars lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with Yokohama BC. Shimane SM will meet at home league's leader Alvark Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shiga L-Stars will play against Shinshu BW (#5) in Nagano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
