Rather expected game when 8th ranked Gifu (4-6) lost on the road to fifth ranked Okayama (6-2) 102-88 on Sunday. Okayama looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Chris Olivier (202-92, college: OK State) notched 30 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: FAU) supported him with 17 points and 7 assists. Okayama's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even a double-double of 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by American center Jayce Johnson (213-97, college: Marquette) did not help to save the game for Gifu. Guard Morito Koga (190-98) added 21 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Okayama have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Shizuoka. Gifu lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Okayama will meet league's leader Nagasaki on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Gifu will play against the league's second-placed Iwate (#2) and hope to secure a win.
