Regular Season Round 10: Fukushima - Tokyo Z 77-73

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Fukushima (6-4) beat at home bottom-ranked Tokyo Z (0-10) 77-73 on Sunday. Strangely Tokyo Z outrebounded Fukushima 41-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) notched 21 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) supported him with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 26 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists by American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Z. American-Haitian forward Marc-Eddy Norelia (203-93, college: FGCU, agency: Duran International) added 16 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fukushima maintains fifth position with 6-4 record. Loser Tokyo Z still closes the standings with ten games lost. Fukushima will meet league's leader FE Nagoya on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tokyo Z will play against the league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
