Regular Season Round 11: Gunma CT - Nagoya DD 90-100

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Nagoya DD (6-5) won against on the road their close opponent Gunma CT (4-7) 100-90 on Sunday. Nagoya DD made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-95) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 7 assists. American forward Coty Clarke (201-92, college: Arkansas) accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winning side. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-89, college: Ferris St.) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-90, college: Miami, FL) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for Gunma CT in the defeat. Five Nagoya DD and four Gunma CT players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Nagoya DD moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Gunma CT dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Osaka E. and Hokkaido L.. Nagoya DD will meet at home higher ranked Hiroshima D. (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gunma CT will play against Yokohama BC (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
