Regular Season Round 11: Shinshu BW - Akita NH 75-79

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Akita NH (5-6) beat 6th ranked Shinshu BW (6-5) in Nagano 79-75 on Sunday. Akita NH shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Noboru Hasegawa (173-96) accounted for 17 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side. Akita NH's coach Kenzo Maeda allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Ko Kumagai (173-96) added 15 points, 8 assists and 4 steals respectively for Shinshu BW in the defeat. Five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Akita NH moved-up to seventh place. Loser Shinshu BW dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Akita NH will meet at home higher ranked Alvark Tokyo (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shinshu BW will play against San-en NP in Hamamatsu and hope to secure a win.
