Regular Season Round 9: Okayama - Gifu 88-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Okayama's (5-2) home victory over 7th ranked Gifu (4-5) 88-65 on Saturday. American forward Chris Olivier (202-92, college: OK State) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: FAU) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Okayama's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Morito Koga (190-98) with 18 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Jerrell Wright (204-91, college: La Salle) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Okayama. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shizuoka. Loser Gifu dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Tokyo HT. Okayama will again meet at home Gifu (#8) in the next round. Gifu will have a break next round.
