Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Jilin Tigers (2-5) were edged by seventh ranked Long-Lions (5-2) in Changchun 95-94 on Sunday. Long-Lions made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by international Mingzhen Zhu (197-96) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Taiwanese point guard Ying-Chun Chen (182-93, college: Liberty) supported him with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Long-Lions' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 21 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists by Yuxing Jiang (193-95) did not help to save the game for Jilin Tigers. The former international forward Cheng Zhong (206-89) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the hosts. Four Long-Lions and five Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. Long-Lions have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Jilin Tigers lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Long-Lions will meet at home Flying Tigers (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jilin Tigers will play against Loongs in Taiyuan and hope to secure a win.
