Regular Season Round 8: Toyama G. - Ryukyu GK 80-83

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Ryukyu GK (6-2) edged on the road bottom-ranked Toyama G. (0-8) 83-80 on Sunday. Ryukyu GK made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by forward Naoki Tashiro (188-93) who scored that evening 12 points and 6 assists and American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Five Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Even 24 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists by Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Toyama G.. American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) added 16 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ryukyu GK keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Toyama G. still closes the standings with eight games lost.
