Regular Season Round 5: Jambyl - Namys 95-98

Namys has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Jambyl, where they edged Jambyl (2-3) 98-95 on Sunday. Namys dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Jambyl's 42. Namys forced 19 Jambyl turnovers and outrebounded them 47-30 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Yevgeniy Kushniruk (193-98) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. Point guard Nurlan Zhanibek (175-99) chipped in 27 points and 7 assists. Five Namys players scored in double figures. Namys' coach Ernar Duanaev used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Andrey Portnyagin (181-94) produced 32 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 steals and forward Stanislav Evtushenko (191-2) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Namys (1-2) left bottom position moving up to eighth place. Jambyl at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with three games lost.
