Regular Season Round 8: Hitachi SRT - Tochigi Brex 74-96
Date: October 24, 2021
There was an upset when second-ranked Hitachi SRT (5-3) was outleveled by seventh ranked Tochigi Brex (4-4) in Tokyo 96-74 on Sunday. Tochigi Brex shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by Chase Fieler (202-92, college: FGCU) who scored that evening 20 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds by forward James McAdoo (206-93, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Hitachi SRT. Forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) added 13 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi Brex moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Hitachi SRT keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Tochigi Brex will meet at home league's leader Chiba Jets in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hitachi SRT will play against Gunma CT and hope to secure a win.
