Regular Season Round 8: Hiroshima D. - Kyoto H. 85-77
Date: October 24, 2021
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Kyoto H. (2-6) lost on the road to first ranked Hiroshima D. (7-1) 85-77 on Sunday. Hiroshima D. made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored that evening 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) supported him with 21 points. Hiroshima D.'s coach Kyle Milling used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds by American forward Justin Harper (208-89, college: Richmond) did not help to save the game for Kyoto H.. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Kyoto H. lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Niigata A..
