Regular Season Round 8: Akita NH - Gunma CT 83-100

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Gunma CT (3-5) beat on the road 5th ranked Akita NH (4-4) 100-83 on Sunday. Gunma CT dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Akita NH's 38. They outrebounded Akita NH 43-29 including 18 on the offensive glass. Gunma CT looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-90, college: Miami, FL) who scored that evening 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Czech center Ondrej Balvin (217-92, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) did not help to save the game for Akita NH. Guard Takeshi Tada (185-97) added 20 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Gunma CT maintains eighth position with 3-5 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Akita NH keeps the fifth place with four games lost.
