Regular Season Round 7: Toyama G. - Ryukyu GK 88-95

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Toyama G. (0-7) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Ryukyu GK (5-2) 95-88 on Saturday. Ryukyu GK dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Toyama G.'s 44. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 12 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 5 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Toyama G. players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Toyama G. lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyama G. will play again against Ryukyu GK (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
