Regular Season Round 6: Chiba Jets - Akita NH 90-73

Rather predictable result when first ranked Chiba Jets (5-1) defeated at home 4th ranked Akita NH (3-3) 90-73 on Sunday. Chiba Jets dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Akita NH's 28. They outrebounded Akita NH 35-24 including 21 on the defensive glass. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward John Mooney (206-98, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. International power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: UConn) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) who recorded 32 points and point guard Sota Oura (182-97) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chiba Jets have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-1 record, which they share with Shiga L-Stars and Hiroshima D. Loser Akita NH dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Chiba Jets will meet at home league's second-placed Alvark Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Akita NH will play against Gunma CT and hope to secure a win.
