Regular Season Round 6: Gunma CT - Sea Horses M. 96-98

The most exciting game of round 6 in the B1 League took place in Gunma. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Gunma CT (2-4) to fifth ranked Sea Horses M. (4-2) 98-96 on Sunday evening. Sea Horses M. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. International center Avi Schafer (203-98, college: Georgia Tech) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-90, college: Miami, FL) with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Five Sea Horses M. and four Gunma CT players scored in double figures. Gunma CT's coach Thomas Wisman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sea Horses M. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Gunma CT lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Sea Horses M. is looking forward to face Niigata A. (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gunma CT will play against Akita NH and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
