Rather predictable result in Matsuyama where fourth ranked Nishinomiya S. (4-2) defeated 7th ranked Ehime OV (1-5) 100-85 on Saturday. Nishinomiya S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was Senegalese center Cheikh Mbodj (208-87, college: Cincinnati, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American forward DeQuan Jones (203-90, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: LBSU) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Ehime OV players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest.
