Regular Season Round 3: Gunma CT - Chiba Jets 74-103

There was a minor upset when Gunma CT (2-1) was rolled over at home by Chiba Jets (2-1) 103-74 on Saturday. Chiba Jets made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) who scored 28 points. American guard Christopher Smith (193-94, college: Utah St.) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Justin Keenan (202-89, college: Ferris St.) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds and Czech center Ondrej Balvin (217-92, agency: Octagon Europe) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Five Chiba Jets and four Gunma CT players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba Jets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gunma CT will play again against Chiba Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
