Regular Season Round 2: Toyama G. - Shinshu BW 41-55

There was no surprise when Toyama G. lost at home to Shinshu BW 55-41 on Sunday. Shinshu BW held Toyama G. to an opponent 22.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 31.4 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Toyama G. 51-39 including 21 on the offensive glass. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) notched 8 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Yuta Okada (189-98) supported him with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists by Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Toyama G.. American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) added 8 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Toyama G.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shinshu BW will meet at home Yokohama BC in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Toyama G. will play against Alvark Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
