A very close game took place in Makati (derby !!!) between SM Beermen and Alaska Aces. Fourth ranked SM Beermen (7-4) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked Alaska Aces (3-8). SM Beermen managed to escape with a 1-point win 101-100 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. SM Beermen made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Center June Mar Fajardo (210-89) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Jaymar Perez (188-93) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Abu Jahal Tratter (196-93) produced 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward John Rodney Brondial (196-90) added 17 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five SM Beermen and four Alaska Aces players scored in double figures. Alaska Aces' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. SM Beermen maintains fourth position with 7-4 record. Alaska Aces lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with eight games lost.
